Distribution of khichdi offerings at bank of Ganga
Kartika Poornima (Kartika purnima) is a Hindu, Jain and Sikh holy festival, celebrated on the Purnima (full moon) day or the fifteenth lunar day of Kartika. At this great time I reached the Garhmukteshwar, Hapur, Uttar Pradesh and celebrated the festival with the peoples of Garhmukteshwar. We have did the distribution of khichdi at the bank of holy Ganga river and talked the people of this great place and discussed the local problems of the people. Garhmukteshwar which provides salavation to the people and the Pooth village situated on the banks of river Ganga are associated with the Mahabharat period. Nearby is the Ahar region which was supposed to be the capital of Pandava's and Janamejay's Nag yagya site. The Loni fort is associated with Lavanasura of the Ramayana period. It was amazing experience to listen to the people of this great place.
